The Tragedy of Julius Caesar
by William Shakespeare

Directed by Stephen Burdman
Performances begin June 2, 2026

We are proud and excited to announce The Tragedy of Julius Caesar as New York Classical Theatre’s 2026 summer production, directed by Founding Artistic Director Stephen Burdman. “This play is a powerful examination of leadership, loyalty, and the consequences of political violence on a republic,” says Burdman. “Of all of Shakespeare’s plays, this one speaks most clearly to the moment we are in. It’s a play for now.

Step into the world of Julius Caesar and discover why it speaks so strongly to our moment. Check back regularly for casting, new educational resources, special events, partnerships, and opportunities to engage.
